One of the many questions that people can have about the NDIS is whether it can help with housing. The good news is yes, the NDIS does provide funding for housing-related services. This support includes Short-Term Accommodation, Medium-Term Accommodation, home modifications, Supported Independent Living and personal assistance. Path to Independence provides some of these services, in short, and medium-term accommodation. In this blog, we will be sharing how the NDIS can help with housing.
Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
Short-Term Accommodation (STA) is one of the core supports that the NDIS provides funding for. Also known as respite, Short-Term Accommodation is a form of funding from the NDIS specifically for a short-term stay away from home for up to 28 days per year. Short-Term Accommodation is commonly used for respite, helping to rejuvenate NDIS participants, carers, and families.

Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)
Medium-Term Accommodation is another form of funding support offered by the NDIS. This is a form of transitional accommodation available for NDIS participants who are preparing to move into a more permanent home. Through the NDIS, Medium-Term Accommodation funding support is available for eligible NDIS participants for up to 90 days.

Supported Independent Living
Supported Independent Living, or SIL, is another NDIS support that is popular with NDIS participants. It is a support that is designed to provide NDIS participants with in-home assistance to live independently in their homes. It can include support for a range of daily activities, including personal care, cooking, and cleaning.
